The J Cafe

Now that that we've survived October, I'll be back on a normal schedule. And back to communicating with you on the J Cafe.

A few quick class notes:

JRN374: We'll be delving deeper into opinion writing this week. And will also make another sweep around the room to check on your feature stories. Come prepared with an idea--any idea--and we'll work on it.

JRN378: Your first photo assignment is due this week. Remember to turn it in by e-mail as a Power Point presentation. All pictures must have accurate cutlines.

MED581: This week we'll be discussing privacy. And I'll also prep you for your big week next week. That's when we split into teams for the cheesy prize competition.

JRN378 and MED581 students: You'll be taking your mid-term exam on Tuesday 10 October. DO NOT MISS CLASS.

JRN374: Students in this class do not have a mid-term exam. We will be finishing our discussion of writing reviews. Bring your ideas to class so we can discuss specifics.

Reminder for all classes: I will be leaving for the 2006 Media Ethics Colloquium on Thursday. Classes will not meet that day. I will not return until fall break begins. That means that we will not meet again until 24 October.

I have to attend the faculty senate meeting tomorrow. We will have class. Jack Diamond will be in charge. I'll have another exercise for you re: reviews. Be sure to read the examples I handed out. (Sorry, no cheesy prizes this time.)

I'll be in class again on Thursday to continue our discussion about reviews.
