Here is Spinsanity’s take on the “reverse reparations” political ad that ran in Kansas City last week. They include a link to an mp3 of this radio ad. This article includes a credible denial of the ad by GOPAC communications director Mike Tuffin. It seems they paid Access Communications for several ads, just not this one.
Whether or not this is indeed a mistake on Access’ part, I stand behind my earlier conclusion (qtd. from my earlier post): “This trend has been building in political advertising (from both major parties) for some time now: Create increasingly offensive ads, and, when complaints are made, pull the ad, call it a mistake, and claim the offending PAC didn’t really authorize or pay for it.” I regret, however, saying this situation “seems to me to be a clear violation of the federal law that political ads must state who or what paid for the ad.”
