Mobilizing to cover a looming war The headline of this Boston Globe article makes it sound as if news organizations are making, or are able to make, positive steps toward covering a possible war with Iraq. But the scuttlebutt is that the situation with the Pentagon will be worse than 1991. The military was able to control the press during the Gulf War. It’s not likely the top brass want to change what worked–except to make it work “better,” i.e. even less access.
