Does change require rancor? Apparently some journalists on Lee Bollinger’s task force think so. This situation seems to be a clash of styles–how information and opinion are exchanged–between journalists and academics. You’ll recall that Columbia University President Lee Bollinger suspended the search for a dean of the Graduate School of Journalism because he wants to reconsider its academic direction–a controversial move.
