Howard Kurtz says Sen. John Kerry “has a warmth problem.” He bases this on pundit analysis Kerry’s performance on “Meet the Press” last Sunday. Kurtz’ column offers a glimpse of the damage done to public discourse by television. Style rules; substance…what’s that? Unless you watched the show, it’s difficult to ascertain from the punditry the substance of Kerry’s remarks. By the way, the substance is the politically useful stuff.
