Floyd J. McKay, responding to recent articles by E. J. Dionne Jr. and Michael Kelly, declares that “liberal journalist” is not a “dirty label.” He asserts a particular definition of “liberal” that allows him to place the concept outside of partisan considerations: “favorable to progress and reform…in accord with maximum concepts of individual freedom, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.”
