Any given poll is hardly a definitive answer to any question. Polls taken over time and compared to other polls, however, can have much to say about the public mood. Bush’s approval rating remains high. That his number are “slipping” or “dipping” seems to me to be a natural function of time and the lull in governance that happens at the end of year.
