There’s nothing new about campaigns to salt Letters to the Editor features with like-minded, amateur punditry. Google just makes it easier to expose. Did someone in the Republican party orchestrate a stealth letter campaign during the 2002 election? Here’s a discussion on the topic.
Two things I find interesting here: 1) the research potential of Google and other data bases and search engines, and 2) the term “astroturfing.” Bravo! What a great term–an excellent example of “verbing” and pop-culture cross reference. (via PoliticalWire)
