Will the press reintroduce America to the Donna Rice affair if Gary Hart decides to run for president? Like, duh!
Howard Kurtz sheds some light on the situation by asking: “Where is the demand for Hart’s candidacy, other than in his own dreams?” I suppose we can ask this of most any candidate. And, certainly, part of the campaign process is persuading people that you do indeed deserve a “demand” from the public. Hart, I think, is soooo 1987. We’ll be hearing again about Donna Rice because that incident provides about the only drama that a Hart candidacy offers.
